Projects undertaken in JamaicaEvery year since 1995, we built a house for a family in need, visited the elderly and children in homes and visited schools. Also, we built play structures and made renovations in several places. Construction With the help of Jamaicans, we build a small house/shelter for a family chosen by the community.
Homes for the AgedWe visit with the residents, and sometimes do renovations at Eira Schader in Trenchtown and at St.Monica's on Spanish Town Road near Ferry.
ChildrenOver the years, we have visited the Marigold Children's Home of Safety, Our Lady of Hope in Black River, the Manning Boys’ Home, and recently Glenhope, which are all homes for abandoned and abused children or adolescent girls. This year, we painted the teenage girls' dormitories at Glenhope. We love meeting Jamaican children everywhere we go.
SchoolsVisiting schools is a pleasure and a learning experience. Sometimes, we help to renovate these schools.
OtherOther projects we worked on in the past included: painting a mural, building play structures and building or renovating shops. In 2009, we expanded the volunteers' dormitory at Our Lady of Hope Children's Home, now located near Mandeville, and in 2010 we built cement slabs to cover an open trench.
