Jamaica Project
- Background : Known as Garneau en Jamaïque at its beginning in 1995, the
project operated as a non profit organization called Jeun’Espoir Jamaïque
from 2001 until the summer of 2007. It is now called Jeun' Espoir inc. - Jamaica project. This year, there is a new Jamaica project, with students from the Samuel-Genest high school.

a few adults travel to Jamaica in
order to lend their assistance in various projects ranging from construction
and painting to cleaning and social work.
- Results : It is an experience that truly enriches these young people, who return home with a better consciousness of social
injustice, ready to get involved in their community, wanting to make
a difference.
- Financing :All participants take part in various fundraisers to cover theirr expenses and to
buy the needed materials such as tools, wood and paint.
- Recognition : Jeun’Espoir Jamaïque received an Excellence in community service award from
the Jamaican (Ottawa) Community Association (2002) and the Martin Luther King Dreamkeepers Award (2007).
